Positives to take from time in HK for Waterboys

Fraser Lyle scored a late try, but it was not to be for the PROJECX Waterboys as they exited the Hong Kong 10s at the Plate semi-final stage.

They lost out to French outfit Kir Club Pyrenees 12-5 at Hong Kong Football Club.

The match itself was a frustrating one, not being able to capitalise on an early yellow card for the opposition, a couple of injuries and the last pass just not going to hand at times.

The final result should not cloud a very positive two days though.

People from many other teams have taken time out to praise the Waterboys and their style of rugby while Co-Captains Jack Turley and Pete McCallum have led the team well.

Big forwards like Russell Nimmo, Jake Eaglesham, Ruairidh Leishman have carried well and young backs like Danny McCluskey and Robbie Nelson have shown their qualities.

With 11 clubs being represented by the Waterboys, the team continues to support Scottish talent.

Thanks to everyone for the support from back home, signing off from HK…
