Aaron Paul has been the star bowler in the CSL Eastern Premiership to date this season – and the South African teenager is keen to help Falkland secure their first league win soon.
The 19-year-old has already taken 17 league wickets since arriving at the Fife club back in April and has caused numerous batsmen issues.
However, the right arm seamer’s good form has not been able to help Falkland get a victory as yet and heading into today’s week nine fixtures they are sitting bottom of the table.
This afternoon they host seventh placed Watsonians at Scroggie Park and Paul said: “I played in England for part of last season and was keen to play abroad again this summer and get used to different conditions.
“When the chance came up to come to Scotland I was very keen and I have been made to feel very welcome by the guys at Falkland.
“I have enjoyed the challenge of bowling against Scotland internationalists and have been pleased with how my bowling is going, but I really am now focused on helping us get a win.
“We have quite a young team, but the guys are learning all the time and we are determined.”
The experienced Wayne Sullivan comes into the Falkland team for this one while Watsonians have Aman Bailwal, Ally Sadler and Mike Carson coming into their XI.
Leaders Mazar Grange host fifth placed Glenrothes and wicketkeeper Harris Carnegie said: “To be top of the table at this stage is very good, but we know that there is a long way to go and a lot of cricket to be played.”
Second placed Arbroath lost last time out to Glenrothes, but for their home clash with Carlton captain Marc Petrie, Greig Peal and Craig Ramsay return.
Carlton are fourth in the table and are boosted by the return of key bowlers Ali Evans and Cameron Shoebridge, the former being skipper.
Heriot’s, sitting third, have Mark Watt and Steve Knox back in the side for their trip to Aberdeenshire.
The Mannofield men have Graeme Tomlinson and Kenny Reid into their XI.
Elliot Ruthven, Hayden Mourits and Josh Tigne come into the SMRH side for the home clash with Tayside Group Forfarshire.
Forfarshire are eighth, but are in a good run of form. For them Scotland man Craig Wallace returns along with Jack Hogarth. Matthew Parker, a key batsman, is unavailable.
