Scotland women and the 14 month journey – WRWC 2025 build up: Away kit for all national teams for 2025/26 unveiled

Gary Heatly

Once again, like buses, as soon as one (two!) new set of kit comes along so does another!

Hot on the heels of the release of the Scotland Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 home and away kits and the home kit for 2025/26, Macron and Scottish Rugby have now unveiled the new away kit for the upcoming season.

The kit will first be worn during the upcoming Quilter Nations Series in November versus USA by the men, followed by the men’s, women’s and under-20s Six Nations Championships that begin in the new year.

The 2025/26 away shirt features a crew neck and is predominantly a light shade of purple inspired by heather flowers. Darker purple tones, those of the many thistles of Scotland, appear in the collar details, sleeve cuffs and vertical side bands. The front body, shoulders and sleeves of the shirt are enriched with an abstract graphic made up of fine irregular lines applied using embossing, which gives the garment a distinct visual and dynamic effect representing the movement of a gentle breeze.

Inside the collar is a customised tape with the word “Scotland” alternating with the thistle logo. On the chest, both embroidered in dark purple, are the Macron Hero on the right and the Scotland crest on the left. The Saltire, the national flag of Scotland, is embroidered on the left sleeve and also appears in embossed print on the lower back of the shirt, blowing like the flags raised above Scottish Gas Murrayfield.

The internal back neck label is customised as in the home version, with a background that mirrors the graphic on the primary shirt, representing the soundwaves of fans chanting “SCOTLAND, SCOTLAND” from the stands of the Stadium. In the foreground is the Scotland thistle, beneath which is the motto “As One” in white. To the left is the Macron logo with the phrase “Designed in Bologna”, certifying and highlighting that every garment is conceived, designed and developed by Macron Style Centre in collaboration with Scottish Rugby at the Macron Campus.

The shorts echo the shirt’s colours and graphics, with a vertical dark purple band on the sides. The socks are light purple with a darker-toned upper cuff.

The new Scotland away kit features a body fit. Like all technical garments produced by Macron for its partners, it is made from Eco Fabric, a material consisting of 100% polyester derived from recycled plastic – a strong message of sustainability and environmental respect. Specifically, the fabrics used are Eco Armevo, Eco Bodytex and Eco Strong Mesh, materials that, in addition to being lightweight and breathable, offer maximum strength.

The 2025/2026 away kit, together with replica versions and the exclusive closing line and merchandise line designed by Macron for Scottish Rugby, are available from today [August 2] at the Official Scottish Rugby Stores located in Queen Street in Glasgow and Scottish Gas Murrayfield in Edinburgh and available in other retailers from August 9.

Tickets for Scotland-England at Murrayfield in April 2026 can be purchased here.
