Waterboys push Penguins hard and progress to the Cup quarter-finals

The PROJECX Waterboys and Penguin International played out one of the best matches on day one of the Hong Kong 10s.

In the end the Penguins came out on top 17-0 at the Hong Kong Football Club to top Pool A, but the scoreline does not do justice to the effort put in by the Scottish select side.

The Waterboys, led superbly all day by Co-Captains Pete McCallum and Jack Turley, are still through to the Cup quarter-finals and after a well-deserved rest tonight they will be raring to go in the last eight.

The sides were tied at 0-0 at the interval, both sides defending superbly and putting in some big tackles.

After the break, the Penguins scored three tries, but the handshakes and nods of approval the Waterboys were given by their opponents at the end showed they knew they had been in a serious game.
