In round one of the Women’s Six Nations 19-year-olds Emily Coubrough and Haineala Lutui made their respective debuts for Scotland and England.
On Saturday in the round two clash between the sides at Murrayfield (1.30pm, live on BBC) they will both be involved while another 19-year-old will be making her debut for the Red Roses.
What can we expect from Bristol Bears’ back-row Demelza Short?
Her back-row colleague Sadia Kabeya said: “it’s a great opportunity for her.
“She’s someone who’s very good in the loose and can carry hard when she needs to. She’s got really great skills and she’s come into training and slotted right in.
“It can be daunting coming into an England squad so young, but I think the great thing about this Red Roses team is the culture we’ve built. She’s in a really good place to learn, she’s been training really well and it’ll be exciting to see her make her debut in this big game.”
England defence coach Sarah Hunter said: “She’s been brilliant for Bristol this season in the PWR and she’s fitted right in with England.
“And it’s a credit to her just how she’s taken her opportunity and her chance. She was playing under-18 Six Nations last year and a year on she’s playing in the senior Six Nations and she’s getting her first cap in front of around 30,000 people at Murrayfield.”
And England forwards coach Louis Deacon added: “She is a 19-year-old who is not fazed by anything which is amazing.
“She’s got a really bright future and she deserves this opportunity. She’s been with us for a few weeks now and she’s done incredibly well.”
