Leith Rugby’s girls’ youth section had the incredible opportunity to welcome six of the Black Ferns to Academy Park as part of their visit to Edinburgh last week before they took on Scotland in the WXV Global Series.
A club spokesman said: “To see every single Leith girl from primary five right up to senior four at the same event and meeting professional female players was inspiring and a real pinch me moment for us as coaches and what we have managed to build with our girls programme here at Leith.
“We also invited our friends from the Dunbar Dragons along to make it an even bigger event.
“Overall we had 47 girls enjoying some rugby, time of out school and meeting their idols.
“A massive thank you to the Black Ferns for coming down and providing this opportunity for our players.”
