In recent years a big part of the Scotland women’s matchday experience at Hive Stadium has centred around supporters getting the chance to meet players after the match.
That happened again on Saturday after the 66-14 WXV Global Series defeat to New Zealand when 4,194 people turned out to watch Rachel Malcolm’s charges.
Among the youngsters who waited post-match to see the Scottish stars and meet them were Scotland men’s tighthead prop Zander Fagerson’s eldest two children Iona and Hamish.
Zander’s wife Yasmine posted on social media: “When we were heading home Iona said ‘I’ve had the best time ever!’
“Getting to cheer on the women’s team with Daddy was a great Saturday indeed.
“Iona and Hamish have already asked when the next match is!”
In answer to Iona and Hamish’s question, next up in the final game of the Vodafone Scotland WXV Series campaign – part of the wider WXV Global Series presented by Mitsubishi Electric featuring the top sides in the world – for Scotland is Australia this coming Saturday at the Hive.
Scotland’s away WXV Global Series fixtures will take place against Australia on October 17 and October 23.
