Love rugby? Then get onside this Easter!

Onside Rugby Performance have put together a cracking group of rugby coaches and are delighted to be offering Easter camps to youngsters.

They will be holding a Easter Performance Camp for girls and boys aged between 15 and 18 at Cartha Queens Park’s Dumbreck ground in Glasgow from April 6-8 and, on the same days, will be running an Easter Camp from girls and boys from P4 to S2 age.

The camps will cover a whole range of things from rugby specific skills to nutrition and they will be run by some of the best coaches in the business.

Thomas Davidson, Kelvinside Academy Performance Coach and Cartha Queens Park Head Coach, and fellow Onside Rugby Performance Co-Founder Ryan Howie, Rugby Development Officer at Jordanhill School, are both looking forward to the camps.

“Ryan and I both have a real passion for rugby camps and are eager as possible that as many youngsters as possible can benefit from a positive experience this Easter,” Davidson said.

“We are keen to offer something that caters for everyone, male and female and of all abilities, but who just love rugby.

“Rugby camps are a great way to expose young people to a variety of skills in a different environment and encourage them to develop as an individual and as a team player.”

Howie added:  “With just over eight years of coaching under my belt, the camps are without doubt the highlight of my calendar.

“I have been playing the game since I was five and coaching since I was 16 and I love the sport and helping as many young people as possible gain access to it and enjoy it.”

The duo will be supported by Christine Belisle, a current Cartha Queens Park and Scotland Women’s cap who is “passionate about getting young people active, building confidence in training and always ensuring there is a laugh along the way”.

Mary Lafaiki, Cartha Queens Park Girls Head Coach and a former Scotland Women’s internationalist, will be there too.

She is very passionate about providing and broadening opportunities not only within the game, but in all aspects of life.

Aird Jardine, Hillhead/Jordanhill Women’s Head Coach and Biggar player, has also been added to the coaching set-up.

And Alex Boyle, a Performance Nutritionist who works closely with the Ayrshire Bulls squad in the FOSROC Super6, will bring a unique set of skills to the table to help fuel performance.
