On yer bike! Sevens team get on two wheels for charity

The Mighty Bovs select sevens team are getting in some serious training before their rugby commitments begin later this year – by cycling over 2,000km on Sunday and raising money for Hearts & Balls.

Dylan Russell from the Mighty Bovs said:  “We decided that this year, before the sevenss season kicks off, we would get into our winning ways early doors.

“We thought a great way to do this would be run a charity event in an ambition to raise as much money and awareness as possible for Hearts & Balls we decided we would need to complete a mammoth task.

“The Valencia Sevens is the furthest away tournament we have competed in so far and was a memorable one for us as a team. This settled our minds on the chosen task. We would cycle the equivalent of the distance from Edinburgh to Valencia on static bikes, a total of 2134.2km.”

The event will take place at Nuffield Health Edinburgh on New Mart Road on Sunday from 11am.
