Vodafone Scotland WXV Series Australia week: 15 points out of 15 in National League for Greenock and Wigtownshire with West third

On Sunday, there were bonus point wins for Greenock Wanderers, Wigtownshire and West of Scotland in the Arnold Clark Women’s National League.

It means that, after three rounds of action, Greenock are top with 15 point, Wigtownshire are second on 15 points and West are third on 11 points.

Greenock Wanderers won 76-10 against fifth placed Highland at home.

Tina Hemphill, Katie Purves (4), Orla McAllister (3), Zoe O’Donnell, Summer Hughes, Daria Sassarini and Rachel Towle were the try scorers for Greenock with Elisha Hope kicking eight conversions.

Holly Clark scored a try for Highland and Lorna Young kicked a penalty and a conversion.

Wigtownshire won 54-17 away at bottom side Ayr.

Niamh Wilson scored an amazing six tries for the visitors at Millbrae while Isla Campbell (2), Catherine Cleer and Candice Docherty also crossed with Sophie Hall kicking a couple of conversions.

Robynn Gibson scored two tries for Ayr with Gemma McIvor scoring one and Lauren McBride kicking a conversion.

West won 95-15 at fourth placed Dundee Valkyries on a day when Natasha Burge became just the second ever player female player to reach 100 appearances for the visitors.

Captain Jade Scott (3), Rosie Broadhurst, Bex Francis, Kirsty Black, Lucy Gardner (2), Burge, Emily Irving (3), Lucy McDonald (2) and Maddie Carter scored tries for West while Sheila Legus-Christman kicked 10 conversions.

Co-captain Laura MacCormick, Emma Duffy and Ellie Lochrie scored Dundee’s tries.

There are no games in the National League this weekend.
